Crazy Knit-mare Blanket

ALL STITCHES IN THE PATTERN ARE UK CROCHET STITCHES

Difficulty: Easy

Materials:

3.5mm crochet needle (UK size 9)

Around 15-25g skeins of yarn in every colour under the sun, plus enough of one colour to provide a constant theme (i used around 400g of the constant colour (i think))

something to wrap yarn around to make tassels (optional)

Chain 284 sts (!) in your constant theme colour – this is the foundation row

Skip first 4 chains and double crochet (DC) into the 5th chain.

*Chain 1, skip one chain of foundation and double crochet into the next chain (7th of the foundation row)

repeat from * until you reach the end of the foundation row.

**Join in next colour for stripe. Chain 4, DC into the top of the 2nd DC on the row below. Work back in the opposite direction, along the row before. ***Work one DC into every DC on the row below and chain 1 between each. Repeat from *** until the end of the row.

Repeat from ** 6 more times (7 rows in funky colours plus one row in constant colour) – make 1 row in constant colour.

Continue in this pattern – 7 rows funky colours, 1 row ordinary colour until you have a blanket of the desired length.
